Plans are underway for two major solar farm projects in Norfolk that are located in close proximity to Cranworth Parish Council.

Regener8 Power aim to deliver over 4GW of renewable energy to the National Grid via multiple small sites, instead of large, combined solar and battery setups. This approach reduces land use, minimizes local impact, and offers a more flexible solution for grid integration. Plans near Cranworth are still being developed.

RWE is moving forward with High Grove Solar Farm, which could become the UK’s largest. Spanning over 4,000 acres near Dereham and Swaffham, High Grove would generate enough clean electricity to power around 363,000 homes. The project includes battery storage, biodiversity improvements, and community benefits, though its large scale has raised concerns among some locals. Both projects reflect Norfolk’s growing role in the UK’s push for renewable energy.
